Payroll Giving

Payroll Giving is an easy and tax-effective way for your staff to support us.  Employees can sign up to give money each month straight from their pay packet.  Donations are taken before tax so for example a £10 donation pledge costs your employee £8 if a 20% tax payer or £6 if a 40% tax payer.

Regular donations are really important for us because with guaranteed income we can plan big for the future.  Payroll giving is also a great way to boost staff morale and is proven to improve recruitment and retention rates.

Not signed up to a Payroll Giving Scheme?

Employers need to be registered with a Payroll Giving Agency (PGA) which is simple and easy to do. For more information visit the HMRC website.

Make deductions each time you run payroll. The donation will be taken from your employees’ pay before tax but after National Insurance.   Send the donations to your agency – they’ll pass them on to the chosen charities.  Ask your agency any questions you or your employees have about the scheme.

Agencies may charge an administration fee. They usually deduct this from employees’ donations before they pass them to the charity. You can choose to pay the fee, meaning the charities will get more money.

You can deduct any costs of running the scheme from your business profits before tax.

If your employees and company would like to support us through payroll giving, please call Lucy us on 020 3745 7310 or email lucy.noakes@orchid-cancer.org.uk.  We can help with any internal promotions to encourage your staff to support our work.

Thank you so much for supporting Orchid in our fight against male cancer. Payroll Giving will help us to provide a range of vital support services, education and awareness campaigns and fund our research programmes.
