Community and Events Fundraising Executive

Closing date: 4th April 2016

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Community and Events Fundraising Executive to join Orchid based in London. The events programme plays a key role in helping Orchid to deliver its aims and objectives.  The events portfolio includes challenge and special events as well as a growing community fundraising programme. Over £500,000 is raised per annum from the events programme, with £180,000 of this currently coming from community fundraising.

Orchid is now seeking to appoint a full time Community and Events Fundraising Executive to work on and grow our events and community fundraising programme. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a small but dynamic, growing charity, and to play a key role in the Team.

The Community and Events Fundraising Executive will assist the delivery of the charity’s community fundraising programme. This will include nurturing our existing supporters, speaking with new enquirers / prospective supporters and maximising opportunities to generate income through identifying new opportunities for growth and increased income. The postholder will develop our schools programme and building relationships with colleges and Universities. The postholder will help us increase our volunteer base and help build relationships with Masonic Lodges, Rotary Clubs, WI and similar groups.

It is a small team so the Community and Events Fundraising Executive role will be varied with the opportunity to support the Senior Events and Community Fundraising Executive with a number of events as well as manage their own projects. The postholder will also be responsible for the administration of all their own projects and assist with the smooth administrative running of the Events Team.

With experience of working within community and events fundraising, the postholder will be a self-motivated individual, be competent at building relationships with excellent written and face to face communications skills, and who will thrive in a busy and varied department.
