King Surge – 250th Anniversary, 1760 Charity Appeal
A staff vote at King Sturge secured Orchid as one of their charity partners for 2009 and 2010.
The two year partnership aimed to raise vital funds for Orchid and at the same time help promote awareness of male cancers amongst King Sturge’s stakeholders.
A key focus of the partnership was the King Sturge 250th anniversary celebrations which centred on the founding by John Player of a business which was the original precursor to King Sturge, the International Property Consultants. To highlight this King Sturge launched the 1760 appeal which aimed to not only look inwards to what had happened to the firm in the last 250 years but outwards to what might happen in the future. The appeal aimed to raise £250,000 for charity through holding a number of fundraising events throughout the year. This included the fantastic King Sturge 2010 Property Triathlon, held at Eton College Rowing Centre, Dorney Lake in Windsor on Friday 9th July 2010.
“It has been fantastic being involved in the partnership with Orchid and helping to raise both awareness and much needed funds for the charity. I have seen first hand the work that they do and I know the money raised from the partnership will have a hugely positive impact on the charity.’” Eric Peters, Partner
