Breaking the Silence: Steven Hamill Joins Orchid to Raise Awareness of Penile Cancer

Orchid is delighted to be working with Steven Hamill on a new initiative to raise awareness of penile cancer through the powerful voice of someone with lived experience.

Steven was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of penile cancer at just 26 years of age. Following a delayed diagnosis, he underwent life-saving surgery that resulted in a partial penectomy. Despite the physical and emotional challenges he faced, Steven has become a passionate advocate for greater awareness of penile cancer, encouraging men to recognise symptoms early, seek medical advice without delay, and break the stigma surrounding conversations about intimate health.

Through this collaboration, Steven will share his personal story to help educate, inform and empower men across the UK. By speaking openly about his experience, he hopes to encourage earlier diagnosis, improve understanding of penile cancer, and remind men that no symptom is too embarrassing to discuss.

At Orchid, we believe that lived experience has the power to change attitudes, save lives and provide hope to others facing a diagnosis. We are proud to be working alongside Steven as we continue our mission to support everyone affected by prostate, testicular, and penile cancer.
