Orchid Nurse Rob Represents Patient Voices at EAU Patient Advocacy Meeting in Lisbon
Orchid Nurse Rob recently attended the European Association of Urology (EAU) Patient Advocacy Meeting in Lisbon, facilitated by the EAU Patient Office, which works to ensure that patient perspectives are represented across the EAU’s network of more than 18,000 urologists throughout Europe.
Rob is a patient advocate for penile and testicular cancer and a core member of the BALANCE Study, which aims to improve understanding of how prostate cancer affects Black men of African and Caribbean ancestry, as well as men of mixed ethnic backgrounds worldwide.
In recognition of his advocacy work, Rob has been invited to facilitate a Penile Cancer Roundtable at the upcoming EAU Congress in March. The session will focus on the psychological impact of penile cancer and its effects on intimacy. He will also contribute to a lecture for the European Association of Urology Nurses, highlighting the specific needs and experiences of testicular cancer patients.
Rob’s involvement reflects Orchid’s continued commitment to ensuring patient voices are heard in clinical practice, research, and education across urology.
